Michael Barr, MSc, Dipl OM: Licensed acupuncturist & herbalist

Michael Barr is a nationally certified acupuncturist and has been awarded the status of Diplomate of Oriental medicine by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He was graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine of San Diego, California, one of the top three acupuncture schools in the country, and has done additional clinical training in contemporary medical acupuncture, motor point-based sports medicine acupuncture, Japanese style meridian balancing, Tung style classical Chinese acupuncture, as well as plant-based integrative functional medicine and metabolic detoxification protocols.

He is currently licensed in the states of Ohio and New York and comes from a 25-year background in healthcare and wellness, having spent 20 years in clinical research and patient education at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in New York City's Greenwich Village as well as healthcare activism organizations. He also serves as a contributing editor and peer reviewer for two acupuncture journals and has served on various research panels at the National Institutes of Health. He is a member of the Society for Acupuncture Research and has presented his research at its biennial conferences in Ann Arbor, Beijing and San Francisco.
