Important Amino Acids: L-phenylaline
Hello folks. I would like to highlight a dynamic amino acid which I have been taking for decades. It is called L-phenylalanine. This amino acid is used by the brain to make norepinephrine, an important neurotransmitter. Phenylalanine can relieve or prevent depression caused by norepinephrine depletion due to physical and/or mental stress. The typical dose ranges from 100 to 1000 mg. per day, taken either on an empty stomach at bedtime, or first thing in the morning. The only caution is for people with high blood pressure. They must be very careful about starting at a very low dose (100 mg. per day), and gradually increase the dose as they check blood pressure consistently.      Phenylalanine is very effective in restoring energy after stressful activities. It provides a mental and emotional lift in the morning, especially if you have been dragging yourself out of bed lately. It is excellent for writer’s block. I have many patients who are professional writers.      When you feel drained, you may be suffering from depleted stores of norepinephrine. Give this great amino acid a try, and reap its benefits.
