Liver Function: PureBi•Ome™ Detox offers 4 clinically researched probiotic strains, Lactobacillus acidophilus (NCIMB 30157), Lactobacillus acidophilus (NCIMB 30156), Bifidobacterium bifidum (NCIMB 30153) and Bifidobacterium lactis (NCIMB 30172), combined with NAC, broccoli concentrate and milk thistle to support liver cell function and healthy detoxification. This probiotic blend is a highly researched 4-strain combination developed through a unique process designed to identify the strongest and most clinically effective probiotic strains. Recent research indicates that microbial flora can bind and transform toxins within the body, promoting detoxification. Probiotics moderate the absorption of toxins across the intestinal barrier into the body, as well as bind to and enhance the excretion of heavy metals. Microorganisms are believed to bind and enhance excretion of heavy metals from systemic circulation through three pathways, ion exchange reactions, nucleation reactions and complexation. Additionally, two recent controlled studies suggest that probiotic supplementation promotes healthy glutathione reductase activity to support optimal glutathione synthesis. Glutathione is a key player in the body’s natural detoxification processes in the liver, as well as helping to enhance the natural antioxidant status in the body to support liver cell health. NAC and silymarin also provide support for glutathione synthesis and liver cell function. What Is The Source?

Lactobacillus acidophilus (NCIMB 30157), Lactobacillus acidophilus (NCIMB 30156), Bifidobacterium bifidum (NCIMB 30153) and Bifidobacterium lactis (NCIMB 30172) are grown on a dairy-free soy-free medium. N-Acetyl-l-cysteine is synthetic. Broccoli sprout concentrate is derived from Brassica oleracea italica whole plant and standardized to contain 400 mcg sulforaphane. Milk thistle extract is derived from Silybum marianum seed and standardized to contain 80% silymarin. Ascorbyl palmitate is derived from corn dextrose fermentation and palm oil. Hypo-allergenic plant fiber is derived from pine cellulose.

Are There Any Potential Side Effects Or Precautions?

If pregnant or lactating, consult your physician before taking this product. Probiotics may result in mild flatulence, which should subside with continued use. They may be contra-indicated for use with immuno-compromised individuals. Rare side effects of N-acetyl-l-cysteine and milk thistle include headache, dry mouth, itching and dizziness. Milk thistle should be avoided by individuals with allergies to members of the aster ( Compositea/Asteraceae ) family, daisies, artichoke, kiwi or thistle. Are There Any Potential Drug Interactions?

Probiotics may be contra-indicated with immuno-suppressant medications. Some studies have reported that milk thistle and broccoli sprout extract can affect the way that the liver breaks down medications metabolized by the cytochrome P450 system, altering the effects of these medications and possibly the dose needed for treatment. Broccoli sprout extract may be contra-indicated with blood thinning medications. Consult your physician for more information.
